The vast
majority of Town & Country designs were engraved on Zippos
with a high-polish finish. The application of the paint
gradually evolved from painting by hand to silkscreen-type
processes through the 1960's, 1969 is the last year of
manufacture of so-called "Town & Country" models, most
notable one being the Apollo 11 Moonlanding Zippo.
The first T&C series released in the late 1940's had 8
hand-painted designs: the trout, sloop, setter, mallard,
horse, geese, pheasant & lily pad:
1949-50 T&C trout Zippo.
1946-47 T&C sloop Zippo.
1949-50 T&C setter Zippo.
1951 T&C mallard
